DSCN9832RID

2 weeks to go and many things still to do but…

It is going to be a very interesting conference, runned as much as possible in a sustainable way. Great experts coming to Noosa to attend the conference from Australia and overseas. Among the names: Costas Christ (Nat geo traveller editor at large and sustainable tourism consultant pioner), Geoff Manchester (co founder of intrepid ), Lizzie Corke (founder and manager of Conservation Ecology Centre, Cape Otway), Sam Firm(Investor, Advisor & Mentor, Former General Manager and Chief Financial Officer Wotif.com), Keith Sproule (Tourism Business Advisor with the World Wildlife Fund in Namibia), Mariglo Laririt (Director of Sustainability, El Nido Resorts/Ten Knots Corporation), Peter Gash (Managing Director, Seair Pacific/Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort) and Jonathan Roberts (Research Project Leader – Autonomous Systems CSIRO Computational Informatics). But the complete list of keynote speakers is HERE

The venue of the meeting in a not only  a beautiful area that looks like paradise  but it is also very much important because designed by UNESCO as Biosphere Reserve in 2007, which means an area that demonstrate innovative approaches to conservation and sustainable development.

I will focus on the Noosa Biosphere Reserve soon, because I have been lucky enough to be guided one day around the biosphere by Ben McMullen one of the incredibly passionate group who worked, asked and obtained the Noosa Biosphere Reserve.

But there is more about sustainability and The Global Eco Conference to share, for example the hotel: the Outrigger seated  beside the Noosa National Park and just a 500-metre from the cosmopolitan dining and fashion hub of Hastings Street and famed Laguna Bay. Built to best environmental practice, it also heralds a new era of environmentally sustainable resort design – exemplifying how modern developments can exist within the natural beauty and ecology of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Don’t you trust me? Read more about the Outrigger here!

Also during the conference we are following all the tips generally give to other especially we decided to created funny recycled gift using materials and stuff from others conferences.
