Hello, today I am happy to share this beautiful and useful infographic from fix.com, not only because this is a very important topic, but also because I am renovating my home. I am using the advice shared on this infographic to guide my choices and be more aware on how to renovate. Making my place as green as much as possible, even if the higher cost doesn’t make it the easy choice. At the same price I would have no doubt in choosing the greenest option, but unfortunately money is still needed.

Eco-friendly options for building materials are available for almost every element of our homes: flooring, walls, insulation, paint, and roofing.
– If you choose wood floors for example make sure they certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which encourages the use of ecologically responsible wood.
– For the walls, new and hot eco-friendly options include fired honeycomb clay, recycled bricks, and even blocks made of recycled materials from power stations.
– Insulation options can be from agricultural products made from corn and soybean oil, or even insulation made from mushroom fibers or sheep wool.
– Roofing materials have two gold-standard eco-friendly options to choose from: a green “living” roof which consists of vegetation, or a solar roof.
