Hello dear readers,
I reflected about it a lot and I want to talk about digital marketing and social media marketing for small business or generally speaking with limited founds. I am so tired to read the perfect formulas for the social media channels.. always needing huge budgets and infinite sources and human resources.
I am going to share my experience with the social media marketing, focusing on destinations (protected areas and regions) and brand awareness, the first step of the selling funnel, but in my opinion the most important one.
today I want to reflect about the use people do of social media and how their use can be helpful for a product, organisation, destination ect. why we use social media?
- to keep in touch with friends (in Facebook case for example), next to us or far away it doesn’t really matter,
but if this is the only reason, then there would not be a way for the business sector to use the channel and to influence people decision making process..
- to see what our friends do, which is slightly different than the first reason, it has more to do with the wanna know, wanna see what others do, what I could do ect;
- to see what others, like famous people (actors, politicians, entrepreneurs, academics, professionals) do, think, achieve and usually we like their pages and we try to follow their life;
- from the other side there are people wanted to be on the stage and they use social media channels for these reasons;
social channels are mainly made for people looking for people, the 1st and most important role we always have to remember when we consider to use a social media account for business or formal activities is they are all made to influence in a way (positive or negative) the relationship among people.
The kind of approach I like most is the Relationship marketing. This is a facet of customer relationship management that focuses on customer loyalty and long-term customer engagement rather than shorter-term goals like customer acquisition and individual sales. The goal of relationship marketing is to create strong, even emotional, customer connections to a brand that can lead to ongoing business, free word-of-mouth promotion and information from customers that can generate leads. Is this easy? can a strategy of relationship marketing be a short strategy? Absolutely not, but it is the one you can study and develop even with limited budget..
